Solution
Grafham Grange was built by Henry Woodyer, Victorian Architect, in 1854 as a vicarage for £1,500. The building is now grade II listed owing to its special architectural and historical interest, including original features such as gothic design features, a fine staircase, panelled ceilings of oak with some oak floors and a number of stone and wooden fireplaces. Set in 42 acres of Surrey countryside Grafham Grange now serves as a special needs school for up to 52 boys.
The school had a major leak causing substantial damage to the original decorative ceiling and woodwork. Following our appointment DHP project managed the work, liaised with loss adjusters, arranged tenders, acted as Principal Designer under the CDM regulations and monitored works. The original features have been restored to their former beauty.
